Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Accolades.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player ended the year with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight season.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka concluded the season with a 63-12 match record, and earned a historic £11m in earnings.

She received nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
