Healing from Light Wounds The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”. “The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said. Honoring the Deceased The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.” His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
